MUN

Why NAMIT?

  • NAMIT was founded by the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) in 1997.
  • MUN is the founder of NAMIT, and the governance of NAMIT is established through the MUN Congress, by the delegates to MUN Congress, the current members as per the MUN Constitution.

Objective of NAMIT

  • To improve and uplift the quality and standard of life of its members.
  • To promote trade union education through, workshop, meetings, publications and any other means which serve to build institutional capacity of the founder as may be determined by the Trustees in their absolute discretion.
  • To re-invest any revenues and proceeds derived from Nam-mic, a private company duly registered under the laws of the Republic of Namibia with registration number 97/233 into social program focusing on education and the improvement of community services.
  • To liaise with regional and international Mine and Energy Workers associations.
  • To Provide for development projects for Mineworkers and ex-mineworkers and where appropriate the immediate community.

Additional Requirements for SME Business Loans:

  • Business plan
  • Good standing certificates (NAMRA and Social Security Commission)
  • Business registration documents
  • Business Management consultation
  • Members/Directors resolution(if owned by more than one member/ director)

The NAMIT Education Fund is an initiative aimed at assisting the dependents of MUN members and ex-members pursue higher education courses at universities, vocational training colleges or other educational Institutions within Namibia with registration fees.

If you are a current or former MUN member, or a dependent, and are looking for bridging finance (MSME Loan) to fund your Micro, Small, or Medium-sized Enterprise, you can apply for a Purchase Order Finance or Invoice Discounting Facility through the NAMIT SME FUND.

Additional Requirements for Micro Business Loans:

  • If available - Business plan (If no business plan is available, provide a brief description of idea) If operating - 6 months bank statements
  • If registered - business registration documents
  • If registered - Members/Directors resolution (if owned by more than one member/director)
