Message From The General Secretary

DEAR FELLOW MEMBERS OF OUR MIGHTY MINEWORKERS UNION OF NAMIBIA (MUN)

Today, I wish to discuss two crucial values that should guide us in our work: unity and servant leadership.

Unity is indispensable in every organization, particularly in our ‘MUN’. It’s essential to remember that we are all working towards a common goal. Each member’s contribution is valuable, and collectively, we can achieve more than we could individually. Maintaining a cohesive and collaborative environment is vital, steering clear of division and unnecessary conflicts.

Our strength lies in our unity, and we must actively work towards it every day. While we may hold different opinions or perspectives at times, it’s crucial to recognize that we are part of something more significant than ourselves, and our actions should align with the best interests of the entire organization.

The second value I want to emphasize is servant leadership. As a trade union, our primary responsibility is to serve our members, fight for their rights, and protect their interests. We must lead with empathy, understanding, and respect. Our approach should prioritize service, actively listening to our members’ concerns and needs, and working diligently to address them.

It is imperative to cultivate a culture of servant leadership in our Union, where leaders prioritize the needs of others and strive to create a positive impact. We must lead by example, establishing an environment where all members feel heard, valued, and respected.

In conclusion, let us remember the importance of unity and servant leadership in our union. By embracing these values, we can create a stronger, more vibrant community where every member thrives. Let us work towards our common goal with a collective spirit, putting others’ needs ahead of our own, and building a better tomorrow for ourselves and future generations.

United we stand! Divided we fall.

Camaraderie Yours,

Filleppus George Ampweya
